Courage is a Muscle

Resilient perspectives for a democratic workplace.

  • 5–25 participants
  • 2-day workshop

What it’s about:

Working professionals often experience a disconnect between their daily work life and the demands of a thriving, democratic society. Participation, collaboration, and exchange can feel like empty buzzwords when many employees feel powerless for 40 hours a week. But the workplace—where we spend a significant part of our time and engage with diverse people—is a critical space for learning, growth, and fostering social values. It’s where political issues intersect with real-life interactions and where values for a better society can be nurtured.

Companies, too, are increasingly recognizing the importance of political education for their employees. Our training program is designed for employees and companies alike, combining methods from action art, non-violent communication, mindfulness and resilience practices. Our approach fosters creative thinking, visioning, and active engagement while strengthening emotional competencies, such as conflict resolution and communication skills.

What to expect:

  • Participants reflect on their own emotions connected to political issues
  • A deeper understanding of one another, leading to stronger team cohesion
  • Greater willingness to support each other and collaborate as a team
  • Participants articulate their values and beliefs
  • Participants identify what they want to change and develop positive visions for the future
  • A sense of self-efficacy and expanded opportunities for action
  • An introduction to action art and its creative methods
  • Increased motivation to actively live out their values and participate in shaping society
  • Strengthened self-awareness, courage, resilience, and creativity
